The Cozmic Cafe
Selected as the "Best Vegetarian Cuisine" for 2007 by the Mt. Democrat newspaper. Located in the Pearson's Soda Works building, an 1850's historic building located at 594 Main Street in Placerville.

The Cozmic Cafe specializes in organic coffee, smoothies, microbrews and local wines. It has become a favorite gathering place for many of the locals. A variety of activities are held upstairs, including live music, art, and community events. |

The Pearson's Soda Works building was built after an existing mine shaft had been developed. The mine shaft was used to store ice and other items that needed to be kept cool. Now it is an integral part of the interior of the Cozmic Cafe. Pearson sold a variety of items to the booming mining population as well as manufacturing soda pop and syrup. |
